No graphics on H61N-USB3

I bought this motherboard to build an OSx86 machine.. had everything up and running today, then I tried to make a few tweaks, reboot, and all of the sudden i don't have any graphics.  I can't see anything, not even when it's first booting up.  Does anyone have any ideas??

Try Resetting the CMOS.

I tried that.. no luck.

Maybe it's just a bad board.

Take the battery out of the board for a while.

Tried that as well... left it out for 15min or so

Can you actually get into Bios?

No.. I can't get any signal from the board to the monitor.  I've tried different cables and different monitors. Same thing.  But the lights on the board turn on when I power it up.  This is my first build and I've obviously screwed something up.  I'm incredibly disappointed.

Don't give up. It will more likely be something simple. Have you tried reseating your components on the board, ram etc?

Do you get any beeps? Do you have an old video card about you can pop in?

I do have an old video card.. but it's quite old (2003ish).

I tried (gently) to install it in the PCI slot but it didn't seem like it fit well.

I also tried resetting the CPU.

Don't force the card! What are your componets? PSU, Ram etc

Hi

The next thing to try is to run an extended clear of the CMOS.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.


Post back when completed.

Sounds a lot like the problems I was having with this very board last week.

Things became a lot easier for me when I tried using a PCIe graphics card instead of running on-board graphics. Once I had done that I was able to get to the bios on every attempt (instead of like 1 in 10) where I was then able to solve the underlying problem which for me was that the ram voltage was set too low for the ram kit I was using, so once I had upped the ram volts to the 1.8 specified by the memory, and adjusted my QPI/vtt voltage to be within 0.5 volts of that I was set.
However – the memory you are using is rated at 1.5V, so I’m not sure my underlying problem is the same as yours.

Later on I experienced pretty poor graphics performance on the machine (it is an XBMC based HTPC) and so although I really didn’t want to I went out and bought a geforce 210 gfx card for under £20 and I have not looked back since.

It sounds like the graphics card you tried might not be PCIe, do you know what the model number is?

Exactly what changes have you made, immediately before it stopped working.
