3 Broken pins on CPU socket GA P67A-UD7-B3

OK, have broken 3 of the pins on my LGA 1155 Socket, damn those things are flimsy, if you bend one good luck straightening it! word to the wise, do not use a cloth near the socket without a protection cover in place. OK so what are my options? RMA for a replacement socket? Cost?

Hi

These pins are easilly damaged and as you mentioned it is not a good idea to uise anything around the socket without the protective plate installed or the CPU inserted.

As you are from UK so I think your best course of action is to contact RMA section:

If there are still any problems then contact our Forum Admin runn3R and see if he can arrange to help you out. I know he has been instrumental in the past with helping  members who have damaged socket pins.

3 Broken pin( Just the little tips missing )

Working fine for 5 months.
seen a post About B2 recall so rang shop they said bring it and replace with B3 board  .
Took board to shop and they refused to Swap saying Damaged Pins 
Was gutted I Broke a working  Recalled board .
If the board Had not been recalled i would still have a PC  .

Anyway put everything back and Alls Working fine    Now im thinking maybe i did not damage the pins myself.

We do hear of quite a few instances of this type of thing happening and it does make you wonder if some retailers are using it as an easy way out. I really don't know why though as the baords are covered by the manufacturers unless of course the problem runs deeper...

Thanks Dark Mantis and runn3R once again for helping me get my board fixed, trust me next time i spring clean the puter that socket protective cover is firmly in place....you guys rock

A lot of the pins are not in use with the current processors so it could well be that the ones you damaged are not needed.
