I recently purchased a Samsung 830 SSD drive to intall with my MA785GM-US2H board. I performed a clean install AFTER setting the BIOs to the AHCI mode. Druing installation the only drive attached was the SSD and CD/DVD burner. During the 1st boot (and since then) the Samsung wa detected as SATA1 device. After later connecting my WD HDD it was detected correctly as SATA2.
I eMailed Gigabyte support and was told to make sure the SSD was in the SATA0 port (it was), no other help.
On booting the AHCI Option ROM is 3.0.1540.59
I tried the AHCI divers from AMD with no success. I even tried to pre load them (they would not load).
Even though the SSD at SATA1 is much faster than my HDD was at SATA2 I am frustrated I cannot run in at least the SATA2 mode.
Thanks for Reading,
Jack
