GA-H61M-D2-B3 - wrong memory frecvency issue
« on: April 04, 2012, 03:05:23 pm »
Hello ,

I have GA-H61M-D2-B3 ver. 1.0 motherboard with the latest bios ( F10 ). Also i have two memory modules ( 8Gb total ) Kingmax 4 Gb FLFF65F-C8KL9. In BIOS screen the memory frecvency is 1066 MHz not 1333 MHz and cannot set to maximum frecvency ( 1333 MHz ). What can i do ? Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome.

The memory is rated at 1333mhz I take it ? If so it might have an Intel XMP rating attached to it. This just means that the memory controller can read from the memory modules that it can run at that speed. If so you can just select XMP profile 1 in the BIOS and job done. If not then you will have to enter the voltage and timings manually in the BIOS. The timingsa should be printed on the side of the sticks and be something like 9-9-9-24. TYhe voltage for running at that speed should also be there like 1.5v or 1.65v.

Thank you for answer. I tried all these steps with no succes. The memory work at 1066 MHz not 1333 MHz. This kind of memory is not in memory supported list. Maybe a future BIOS version can solve this problem.

Yes it is possible but have you tried to manually enter the timings and voltage ? If so didn't this work ? It is unusual for this to not have the desired effect and so it might be more of as problem than you think. Have you tried running Memtes86+ for an extended period on the memory ?

Hi ,

Yes, i tried to set manual timings and voltage and this didn`t work. The memory work at 1066 MHz not 1333 MHz. Also, i tried to run latest version of Memtest86+ for an extended period with no errors. Also, by SPD the BIOS report 1323 MHz not 1333 MHz. I think that only a BIOS update can correct the problem.
