CPU clashing with steam's CEG protection.

Hey, I am running an AMD FX 6-Core Processor. I have got the problem that the CPU bios is clashing with steam's CEG protection, and whenever I launch a steam game that has this protection, my pc reboots and I am given this error message.

It would sound like you are going to require a BIOS update to fix this or a patch from the game writers.

What is the easiest way to update my bios then?
I have got a gigabyte 990FXA-D3 with a AMD FX-6100 and as far as I can tell, they are both updated fully. I have tried updating my motherboard's bios through the gigabyte website downloads section but keep getting an incompatibility error that the only bios version available is for 32-bit windows 7.

The first thing to do is make sure that you have all the correct details regarding your motherboard. Firstly you need the model number and then the revision number. This is printed on the board's left hand side near the PCIE slots. It would appear that there is only one option here and the revision should be rev.1.0 The motherboard's model number is GA-990FXA-D3  so by putting this together you will end up here:

Under the download tab you can find all the updates for drivers and BIOSes. The most up to date version is F5i so you can download it and save it somewhere where you can find it again. Once downloaded you can unzip the file and there should be three seperate files packed in there. You only require the actual BIOS file. Copy this to a small USB pendrive.

In the BIOS you can find the QFlash utility.  during use on the QFlash homepage disable the option Keep DMI data before moving on. Once you get the chance you can run the file of the pendrive. You will need to have this drive installed before booting up.
