EX58-UD3R memmory devices not working correct?
« on: May 11, 2012, 06:27:40 pm »
I'll begin with some information about my computer:
Mobo: Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (rev 1.6)
Processor: Intel i7-920
RAM: 6 GB (3x2) CM3X2G1333C7
Power Supply: Corsair 850W (dont know exact name, not @ home atm)

I ran a HWinfo test and had this disturbing result:
so here you can see Motherboard > SMBIOS DMI > Memory Devices, the Memory Speed is @ 400 Mhz, shouldn't this be 1333 Mhz?

I also saw this:
This is in 'Motherboard > SMBIOS DMI > Memory Devices > Memory Controller:
Maximum Memory Module size is only 1024? Is this correct?

I'm sure my RAM isnt bad,I've ran memtest86 for 12 hours, no errors at all and I've used an other person's RAM and the value didnt change.

This is HWinfo's info about my memory itself:

Now I wonder if this has an effect on my computers and memory speed? When I did a AMD system Monitor test I saw that system memory speed
was also 400Mhz:

I've already done a CMOS reset (only removed the CMOS battery for 5minutes, should this be longer?)

Can anyone help me out or give me info?

Thanks!

Hi

There is nothing wrong with your computer so stop worrying. Basically the memory speed is multiplied to give tha actual running speed that is why it reports that number. Don't forget it is DDR3 that you have installed. Don't look for problems, they will find you soon enough! :)
