Hello everyone,
I have GA-EX58-DS4 motherboard with BIOS F11 and I was running with RAM Kingston 3x1GB 1066Mhz CL7 1.5V. Now I bought Corsair 3x2GB 1600Mhz CL9 1.65V and BIOS recognizes only 4GB of RAM. Windows 7 (x64) sees that 6GB are installed but says that only 4GB are usable. Plus CPU-Z is saying that I have 6GB but the RAM runs on Dual Channel mode.
I have noticed that in BIOS under the RAM Channels options, channel B doesn´t register any RAM module what is very weird. When I put the Kingston back, it was all runing just fine and all channels were registering the RAM modules. Then I added the Corsair to the Kingston and I had 9GB of RAM and all channels were fine. But then again when I tried to run the system with Corsair, only 4GB were usable.
By the way I tried to boot the system with one Corsair module at the time and each one was ok. So there is no problem with Corsair modules as well as the channels on the motherboard.
I also checked the Boot Advanced options to uncheck the maximum memory option and it didn´t help.
I hope I didn´t confuse anyone, if so I apologise.
Do you know what can I do to fix it ? I am grateful for any suggestion.
