Z68A-D3H-B3 Rev 1.0  F13 bios  / Cannot get PCIEx16 Video Cards to work.

Tried to load PCIEx16 first and tried both Auto and Enable if no PEG settings to no avil.

Is their a way to turn off the onboard settings?

Tried with 3 video cards and can not even get my original card to work now.

I know it it took me at least 20 reboots to get it to work when I first installed it.

The original was XFX Radeon 6670 and the new card is an XFX Radeon 6950.

I recently updated the bios to F13 to support the I7 3770 processor added tonight.

Any help would be appreciated or I am giving up on Gigabyte motherbords.

This one has been riduculous to get a video card working and I have worked with many motherboards so I am not a newbie.

Hi TomW,

I've been searching for over an hour now about how to users did a replace/ upgrade on their video card. Sorry about your trouble, looks like were in the same boat.

had a meager GT430 installed on the PCI-E slot 1 of my 990FXA UD5, which I then replaced with a HD6670. Upon power up, letters and numbers (ala Matrix) started floating on the screen which Im certain means trouble.

How do you perform an upgrade on a video card anyway? I suspect, I should NOT have remove the GT430 and instead added the 2nd card (HD6670) and then allowed the BIOS to recognize it. Is that correct?

What I did to change from 2x5870's to my GTX 680 was go into Device manager.

Select display adapters and remove device from system. Check the box to remove drivers also.

Then,I shut down the pc,remove old card, replace new card. Plug in power cables if need be.

I rebooted in safe mode and ran Driver sweeper 3.2.0, Reboot and install new drivers.

Sometimes remnants of old drivers are left behind that cause issues.  I hope this helps.
