Updating Chipset drivers.
« on: July 17, 2012, 07:32:27 pm »
Hi,

I own an MA770T-UD3P ver 1.0 MB, using the latest F12 BIOS. My OS is Windows 7-64 bit.
I would like to update the chipset drivers, and downloaded the package from your site.
However, unpacked it provides 66 folders with 299 files? Which ones should I use?
Clicking on the installers in the various folders, it comes up with a message that I need "ATI Catalyst install Manager". Which is not installed in my rig, as I use an Nvidia GPU.

And searching on AMD´s page for this installer provides nothing.

How do I install updated drivers on my MB?

Best Regards,
Anders

You should install the chipset drivers from AMD:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx

This covers all 700, 800, and 900 series chipsets.

It should have everything you need.

Thank you,
for your promt answer.

I did install the ones in your link.
However, I expected to see a change in revision in the MB section of CPU-z. But it still says that it is revision 00 ?
The installation went rather fast, and suddenly it was over with no notice. No message such as "Installation was succesful", or "reboot to implement changes" or the like.

Anything that I might have overlooked?

Best Regards,
Anders

CPU-Z is for your hardware not drivers.

If you want to know about driver versions use Device Manager in your Control Panel.

It probably went fast as it didn't need updating.

That's an old chipset and probably hasn't needed an update for a long time.

Windows 7 has all the needed drivers just update it.
You can download older chipset drivers from AMD website if needed.
Those packages have some PCI-E bus drivers , a USB filter driver and separately you can download a AHCI drivers paclage.
All of them are not needed on a fresh W 7 installation performance wise.

You usually need only video drivers and audio drivers to be kept up to date.

Are you  experiencing any issues right now ?!
Over & Out !

AMD FX (APU-s included) users should install - KB2645594 & KB2646060 under Windows 7
