Z77X-D3H - RAM clock speed stuck at 1333

Ahoy!

Let's get the system specs out of the way first. NOTHING is overclocked:

Windows 7 - 64 bit
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
Intel i5 3450 Ivy Bridge processor
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB RAM (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Radeon 6850 whatever... shouldn't matter in this case

So I just recently bought a new system with some 1600mhz RAM from Corsair but it would seem that my mobo simply won't run the RAM at it's correct clock speed. It automatically sets the clock speed at 1333 and refuses to run it at 1600 like it's supposed to.
The manual stated that you need an Ivy Bridge processor in order to run 1600 mhz RAM and my Intel i5 3450 processor fits that bill. I thought that my BIOS needed upgrading since my 3450 processor is apparently not supported until the F7 Version but the mobo shipped with F5. Well now I have upgraded to F9 and there is no change.
I've changed the memory multiplier in the BIOS from "auto" to 1.6 without any difference in the clock speed measurement that the BIOS displays. I haven't messed with the voltage settings but it seems the ram is running at about 1.52 volts.

I know that this particular RAM isn't listed on the website in the "Supported memory list" but I really don't see how this particular RAM should have a problem when other Corsair sticks from the same line are supported.

So. What settings should I try messing with? Any ideas as to what exactly is preventing the RAM from running at 1600 mhz?

where are your memory populated? in ddr1&3? you can try memory mutiplier= 16.00 or enable XMP and then save and exit.
it should run as 1600.

Actually the sticks are in the first two slots of the motherboard.

Apparently the problem is now fixed. I went to check the settings in the bios to try enabling the X.M.P. (Extreme memory profile) but the clock speed had apparently gone up to the proper speed.
I had rebooted twice after updating the bios and the clock speed still hadn't changed after those restarts. I haven't changed anything else but now it's working properly, it seems.

Thanks anyway!

XMP is an Intel Auto-Overclocking feature for memory, so you can just set the values manually to what they should be.
