Suspect installation disk

Suspect installation disk
« on: August 20, 2012, 08:35:24 pm »
I have a cheap (yet good) Gigabyte LGA1155 MB - with an i3 cpu. The installation disk that came with the board would never run setup correctly, or indeed function at all.
My installation was done by the back door - via device manager and updating what was required in that way. (Hope that makes sense)
Today I tried to look at the ET6 information, and after some delay was confronted by a C+++ error window. I think this confirms a disk error, so tried installing this on my spare test bed Laptop. Again I could not run setup from the disk.
The disk is marked Ver. 1.1        12DC1-1OIH61S-11OCR
Where should I go to obtain a replacement? - your help would be appreciated.

Just to throuw my tupenny worth in here, I don't usually bother with the Instal Disk that comes with the motherboard as I have found that all they are really good for are coasters, skeets and frisbees!

Usually I download all the drivers and latest software that I want from the Gigabyte site as this is usually more up to date than those on the disks.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Yes I agree in general as you know absic but there are times when they can be handy like for the LAN drivers etc.
