Gigabyte 660 ti and the Witcher 2

Gigabyte 660 ti and the Witcher 2

Hey so I just put in my Gigabyte 660 ti Windforce overclocked edition into my pc and tested a few games.  Runs Skyrim and Metro 2033 great, big upgrade to my gtx 460.  However when I ran the Witcher 2 I was surprised.  It was running the game about 15 fps lower than the several benchmarks i looked at.  I have all the game settings the same and I was wondering if anyone else had worse performance in the Witcher 2 than the benchmarks say.

Here are my PCs specs:

Phenom x4 @ 3.7
8 gigs ram (forget the speed)
Gigabyte 660 ti OC edition

Witcher 2:
Ultra preset (ubersampling and AA off)
1920 x 1080
Average fps: about 45-48

Witcher  benchmarks:
Ultra preset (ubersampling and AA off)
1920 x 1200
Average fps about 60 (I looked at several benchmarks and they all had about the same fps)

If anyone has played the game I was testing it in the Siege of Vergen, and in the grass outside the Kaedweni camp.  It may be that I was just testing it in very demanding areas and I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same issues.

Hi

I don't know the game at all apart from the name so I can't comment on that. However after reading your account I would suggest trying to run the benchmarks in other areas of the game to. See what readings you get from them. At least then you will be able to tell  whether it is across the board or particulary bad in that area.

Now works, abut 3 days touch that touch this...

i Uninstaled the game and delete the folders:

- C:\Users\You\Documents\Witcher 2
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\the witcher 2

Downloaded with steam and now works

Bye ^^
