Windows 7 Installation problem

Windows 7 Installation problem
« on: September 11, 2012, 07:27:22 pm »
Recently bought a gigabyte computer tower sith no OS on it. During installation of windows 7 I am asked to install drivers to continue the installation, but the drivers on the disc provided wont work. Does anyoneone know what drivers I specifically need to install and if possible the file path to get to them as I thought it would have been harddrive drivers and the sata drivers on the provided disc wont work. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi there.

That's unusual as mine installed first time, could you please give us some input as to what type of system you are using; cpu, mobo, etc. Also are you installing 32 or 64bit & what setting do you have your bios on plus what win 7 version are you installing. The only other thing I can think of is to get the latest drivers & update them on to a USB & hopefully the system can access it. There is probably a simple reason for this & someone else can help.

Let us know how things go.

Thanks.
Ben.

Hi DM.

Glad it might help some people, regards the win 8 installation as you may see from my update I now have win 8 ev pro installed.

It was a pretty straightforward install, just downloaded the OS from their site, installed it into my external drive, & just loaded it from there, I kept all my old win 7 files just in case but have deleted them since as I have had no problems with this OS, well not major ones anyway.
I quite like the setup took sometime getting used to it, especially as they have done away with the start button, well not so much as done away as moved it to the other side, basically its a gear menu that you click on & it gives you some options, one of them being to switch off your system.

Well it's October now, not long for the 'Happy, Mature horizontally challenged person' (Jolly old Fat Man) to arrive again.
