As you say the timings are really neither here nor there and you would never be able to notice the difference apart from with a benchtest program.

Yes the 8-8-8-24 set and very good they are too. I haven't had any problem with them at all and just run them on the XMP ...so nice and easy.
What was the problem with your other UD7, bent pins?

yea i was manually setting them and were running fine over the 3 weeks i had that first ud7 ..

no , what was happening is i was getting MIT reset (Double boot) on clocked setup and even Default vaules i.e everything Standard, dam weird issue, 13 days i had this problem and it was intermittent but at the end , every boot the Mb was double booting and this was all set to default, best guess it was a VRM thing , not sure. and i think the Ud7 was not even new, because when it got swapped the second Mb tray was taped down.

over them weeks i swapped the MEM, gpu (480) thats my second as well , first blow up ::), Psu Enermax DXX 1000 to a Corsair 850 , the DXX did not help the first had Capacitor wine, and i had 3 others after this, then i refused the 5th, even may of caused the UD7 to fail, bloody nightmare i can tell you, worst hardware issue i have had to date since 2006 with the A8N32-SLI..

Even though the Enermax is normally a good PSU I wouldn't be suprised if your initial problems were down to that rather than the board. Most of the double boot issues are from the PSU, not all but a lot.

I notice you have managed to hang on to a revision 1.0 board. In m my opinion much better than the revision 2.0.

i did post issues on here and other places everyone was stumped, but there was issues on the DXX destroying HDD,cdroms, graphics when i searched after swapping out Psu , the Cap wine was very bad indeed , the noise you would blam it on board straight away as it sounded like it was untill i took the Psu out and booted system..

i did not no that most of the Double boots are down to the Psu, the HX850 should do the job just fine as that is what i asked for when i refused the DXX, the Hx is around same power, i did not want anymore refurbish rubbish, this is Retail sealed., is there anything eles i need to no that can throw off the Mit?

i no it was before the 2.0 release though, would be gutted if i had an issue again and got the 2.0 16 phase version, the Ud7 1.0 is basicly a Ud9 .

one thing i did take the Water block off the northbridge , this dropped temps around 5-6 c on air  and using the Passive cooler, also want to copy the Ud7 2.0 heatsink for the northbridge, got the low profile heatsink i jst needs cutting and then get a thermal pad, just to see if i get a temp drop again.

Quite! only real difference being that the UD9 has the capacity for an extra SLI/Crossfire card. Something most of us mortals couldn't even think about affording.

Of course the best thing is to remove all the heatpipe connected cooling blocks off the motherboard and then get a whole board water cooling block from EK as the standard blocks on the board are fitted on top of a fin assembly so not giving direct cooling to the chips themselves. Really the watercooling option that comes with these boards is only paying lip service to it.

no need for all them Gpu cards on one board anyway unless you want Space invaders running at 1000000 fps , also  there is no Pci slot which i need as i run a sound card,

the Standard heatpipes does the job just fine on air removing the Water block was a surprising temp drop but it is a heavy block that holds heat , no need to get that Ek as if your Watercooling on the SD board your allot cooler anyway, on air i am well under the Intel x58 temps (58c load,36 idle) i have never hit 58c max was 55c.

Yes I have minimul fans inside the case and only on low setting. The HAF 932 case also helps keep everything cool and even if I torture it I never get over 50 degrees. I have it all watercooled .

i just hope you do not have bubbles inside case like you do in a Aquarium.. ;D

was thinking the 930 has a different Mem controller , do you think that maybe down to why the XMP sets mem to 7,7,7,23 with the 920? as that Corsair C7 mem i have is very new.

I really don't know why it does that but we see many weird things ike this with memories and it could be down to it not being recognised properly as it is new although I would have thought it would have just read it off the SPD.

thats what i thought , i.e XMP read the mem then boot to that SD XMP timming , this is why i am thinking 920 mem controller..   i wish i had a 930 just to test this Theory.
