Mother Board Problem?
« on: May 02, 2013, 09:31:03 am »
Hi all. just bought a 990fxa UD7 board. Do you need to switch off the power from the main socket if your not using it? The reason im asking is that i have 2 Hard drives one mechanical and 1 ssd. Atm im having problems on both........ the problem is whenever i start using my PC for the first time in a day, after the manufacturers logo pops up the window saying its loading System operating thingy i got stuck on that everytime. I normally reset it and it sorts out fine. ( The windows bit im on about is the one before the windows Logo shows up) I have tried installing windows OS on both drives and i get same results... And one thing i noticed lets say for example im done using my pc for the day if i switch it off BUT not pulling the plug on the main socket and use it on the following day it works fine. The problem only arise when i pull the power from the main socket and then i need to reset the machine just to make it work properly. Any ideas pls coz its starting to piss me off..... and i think i made a wrong choice of buying this board grrrr . Ty in advance

The main suspect is the PSU.Swap it for a better one and see what happens.Bad capacitors in the PSU more exactly.
Otherwise increase the RAM voltage as well a little you can rise it to 1,65V.

Over & Out !

AMD FX (APU-s included) users should install - KB2645594 & KB2646060 under Windows 7

1.ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 + FX 6300 + H60
2.MSI A88X-G41 PC Mate + A8 5600K + Hyper TX 2
3.Gigabyte F2A75-D3H + A4 5300
4.ASUS AM1M-A + Athlon 5150

The latest BIOS for your motherboard is actually F11a which can be found here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3880#bios and this may help with your problem.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Wow ,don t you think it s a little to much ,no wonder it doesn t boot properly, the load is too low.
Are you using a tri-fire or a crossfire with dual GPU cards ?!

If not ,get a ~750W PSU ,OCZ will do if it s the high end Fatality.

Right i have done what u ask i change my psu to a 700W Ocz and its still the same. Gigabyte told me to update my fcking BIOS to that Beta f11a and its still the same.......... anymore bright ideas?.. I have ruled out my SSD hard drives and mechanical ones. Not my memory. nut my PSU, not my lovely card.... and leaves me to one conclusion its my motherboard. I bought this board for i thought im gonna have a badass upgrade.... well its not its a pain in the ass..... Man i should have waited for that ASUS formula Z grrrrrrr
