GA-87TN won't boot directly to Windows
« on: March 19, 2014, 11:22:51 pm »
When booting my GA-Q87TN ver 1.0 the American Megatrends screen comes up with various options, e.g. F1 to Skip etc.

How can that screen be bypassed to boot directly to Windows 8.1 without entering F1?

Also,  on the American Megatrends screen it's displaying a CPU Fan Fail warning.  I assume this is because the mobo is in a fanless case. The CPU runs cool so there's no problem with over heating.  Is there a way to turn this warning off?

Thanks

You might have the CPU fan plugged into the wrong header.

Thanks for the response dmdliks.

However there is no CPU fan, no fans at all.  It's a fanless silent pc case.

I'm not sure this is where it is but go to H/W Monitor in the there see you can disable your fan in there.

See the board does come with a CPU header and it doesn't see any thing plug in.

After digging further in the BIOS setting I found H/W Monitor and the fan settings.  Switching the warnings off did the trick, now it boots to Windows!

Thanks again for your helpful response.

Glad you got it and the is only good for toilet paper. All these small boards. It is like the smaller the board the smaller the book and less info.
