Gigabyte Socket 1150 MicroATX Motherboard GA-H81M-S2H
« on: September 07, 2015, 03:08:29 pm »
I know it has a 256 GB SSD (its my C: drive). Can anyone tell me (I am not a techie) whether it has a second slot/socket or whatever to hold a second SSD, and where it is on the attached pic?

Also, what does an SSD socket look like?

(The reason for asking is I might need to make a backup clone of my C: using a second SSD, and I am told that a clone erases the drive before it saves to it.)

Thanks.

Down the bottom left of centre, you'll see 4 SATA ports (two white ones, marked SATA3 (faster, better for SSDs) and two black, marked SATA2 (slower, better for HDDs or DVD drives)). That'd be where your SSD will be connected, and as long as at least one of those is free, you can add another.
