H77n-wifi not booting and no display output
« on: July 24, 2016, 02:11:54 pm »
I am in need of some help.

Yesterday I changed my cpu cooler from the stock Intel one to the noctua  NH-l9x65 and since then I am getting no display out. The fan turns on and will stay on u less I turn it off. But I get no display output. I have a graphics card  installed so I tired wiping my bios setting and trying the onboard still no luck. I have strip it all down and rebuilt it, I get no beeps but I think that is because there isn't an internal speaker ( I do have one but not sure where to put it).  So from the tests I have done it's either CPU or motherboard.

Any help on fixing this would be great as I love this little board and don't really want to replace it before I move home but I need it up and running as its my plex server.

Greetings,
Have you tried with the old CPU fan?  Does it work again?  We have seen problems when these types of coolers are installed incorrectly.  Usually by misalignment or over-tightening (back plate).  Other possibility my include not connecting the power connector to the CPU_FAN header. Or using the L.N.A. patch (1800RPM) which may not work with an older Z77 board.
