So recently I took it upon myself to build the cheapest and most budget friendly gaming PC I could for under £200. It had to be capable of playing esports and Battlefield titles.
Venturing onto craigslist left me with a few options. I managed to find a seller who had a spares and repairs GA-X58A-UD3R. He included a Core i7 920 and 6GB OCZ DDR3 (One of these sticks turned out to be dead). After purchasing it off of him for a small price of £50, I reflashed the bios and got an EVGA GTX 680 OC 2GB from CeX online for £72.50. There is also a company called box on ebay who sell cases that have small deformities and open boxes for really cheap so I picked up an Aerocool Cyclops Red for £15 and a 500W 80 Plus PSU of a brand I never remember for £20. I found a Kingston SSDNow300 lying around along with a 5400rpm samsung 500gb 2.5" hard drive. After putting these in the system I fired up the Windows installer, downloaded all the motherboard drivers and played a couple of games.
CSGO on Highest seemed to stay around 200 - 300 FPS
Battlefield 4 on the Ultra preset at 100% scaling stuck around the 100fps mark
Both tests were in 1080P at 100% scaling
So all in all for £152.50 I was able to build a beast spare gaming rig that smashes through games at 1080p.
Leave a comment on what Budget PC options you have managed to conclude or PCs that you have built on a budget that smashed through your faviourite titles!
Hopefully we can help some budget gamers build an awesome rig that will let them game on a price that doesn't break the bank. 😀
Il include more accurate fps results tomorrow as i'm kind of worn out after this weeks PC. 😴
