Is the eyefnity, really needed though? I mean what it supports multiple monitors? Does not all graphics cards support that?

Yes most graphics cards will support two monitors but eyefinity supports three(as long as one of them is equipt with a Display Port connection) and you can stretch your desktop across all three giving a sort of surround sight. It allows more total immersion especially in games, etc.
