GA-UD5-X58 Rev 1 RMA/Assistance Help
« on: September 28, 2010, 04:24:43 am »
Hey guys this Mobo had been sent to Taiwan Gigabyte but the issue was never address or fixed how can i further investigate to fix the issue or get a replacement? I have a receipt. Im located in Australia and i cannot find any number to call to have further assistance.

I have made a thread about my issue but i think it might have to do RMA more then a help as the issue is something ive been trying to fix for months now. If you could please read through my thread that would be appreciated.

http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2954.0.html

And since its been RA'ed once its need to be addressed further i think, i am unsure what to do next and need to be pointed in the right path

Thank you for your time.

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob and welcome to the forum.
Firstly sorry to hear that your problem hasn't been fixed! Why didn't Gigabyte, Taiwan repair it(or replace)? Secondly why did you not use your local centre for the repair?

I returned the Mobo to my local seller and they tested it and found it faulty. Then then sent it to Gigbayte for further testing and said its fine and i asked my reseller about it and they said gigbayte only did a bios update and thats it.

This is not the 1st time ive had this happen to me either. Pretty annoyed and losing some faith tbh. They make good stuff but the time it takes to get it sorted ive well and truly moved along with another brand to fill the RMA gap.

But as you well know the UD5 on release was expensive i have this $300+ mobo sitting here now collecting dust when it should be in use.

Ill try those link you sent me in my other thread and see what gigabyte say about iot.

Yes I agree with you about it beiong very annoying and not good for "Customer Relations" to carry on this way. I would say that the board is obviously faulty and to have it returned NFF just adds insult to injury. I am afraid that some of these "technicians" don't know their asses from their elbows. I sometimes wonder if they even read the reports, or test the boards. ::)

Hey Mantis this is the respsonse i got from Gigabyte Email i sent through last week, they obviously didnt read what i wrote to them as they would have seen i have monitored my temps using their BIOS lol, and i also had sent it to them previously,

GIGABYTE
"
Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. We are wondering how do you check Vcore Volts and other parameters in WINDOWS ? Would you provide the screen shot taken? BTW, because most of the 3rd party software does not know our hardware design and somehow it is impossible to optimize all with our products; therefore, we are sorry to say that we cannot guarantee whether the 3rd party software can report information correctly. Sometimes it may display miscalculated/unsupported readings.

If you still have any further question or suggestion about our products/service, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will try our best to help you resolve the problem ASAP.

Regards,
GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY"

anyways i have managed to get into contact with Gigabyte technology thanks to a mate who knows a local rep in melbourne so the Mobo was sent to them on saturday and now awaiting for them to retest it and replacement.
I send them an email with the decussion we had and with the rep and they seen a screenshot of my vcore/temps and said asap send it direct to them lol.

Ill Also let you know if it gets replaced.

Well that is about right for GGTS  I'm afraid. I am not sure what sort of monkeys the employ but obviously don't pay them enough peanuts  ;D
Anyway you seem to be making some progress now and let's hope that your l;ocal Gigabyte service will be able to fix it for you. Fingers crossed.
