OC GURU with GV-N470SO-13I and NVidia WHQL 260.89
« on: October 23, 2010, 05:36:43 am »
Hi to all,

I have an GV-N470SO-13I (GTX470 SOC), with WHQL 258.96 OC GURU manage well the power fases (in the OC GURU and, of course, physically on PCB leds). But with WHQL 260.89, OC GURU shows only 1 power phase active, but all the leds on the PCB are on. Also all the power meters ("GPU Power", "Total Power Saving", "Standard consumption" and "Now consumption" are on 0000.0000 all the time.

Also, OC GURU don't save FAN speed on profiles. Always starts at 40% (AUTO).

Can you help me how to solve.

Btw, my specs are:

MB: Asus P5Q Deluxe Bios 2301
CPU: Q9550 E0
RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX PC8500
SO: Win7 (i386 and amd64) Same results on both.

Regards.

Hi,

Wonderful that anyone respond.  :-X

Well I will tell you the solution:

I have downloaded the latest OC Version 1.1.3.1 (1.13 at Taiwan WHQ page) and after removing Logmein (because Oc Guru try to connect the mirror driver) all works fine again.

BTW the interface is really great. Fan speed, voltages and phases works flawless. Very good job updating the app.

I had the same problem, and yes the 1.13 version fixed it for me.

One of the nice things about the 470 SOC is it's improved cooling and power usage at stock. For many people a pair of standard GTX470s would be too loud and too hot for SLI.

The OC guru tool totally lets the side down though. The only way to get the power management working properly is to run the tool. But if you have 2 or more cards in SLI, you can't actually get any voltage or temperature readings from any cards except the primary card, so it's not a great deal of use if you either want to overclock or just monitor your cards.

Sorry my first post is a moan, but after receiving this from tech support I felt a bit annoyed..

Hi,

Our OC GURU only show first card information when you install two cards, and we won’t update tool to fix this issue.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

You are welcome to moan if that is what you feel like and to be fair the response was a bit brutal wasn't it? Where was the customer service there? To be honest it probably wasn't meant to be that brusque just the language difference I expect. Not that it is any sort of excuse.

Sounds very nice Olly. I am hoping to upgrade the graphics in mine shortly. Some of the pictures are a bit out of date now as I am always playing around with the components and adding things etc. I will post some new ones sometime.
