Plugged in 16x card and 1x Tuner stopped working?

This is what I wondered. So it means that it is either a compatibilty issue with the 460 and the tuner card or a power problem. The only real difference between the two graphics cards is that the 460 uses a lot more power.

It shouldn't be a power problem. My 650W Corsair is overkill for a GTX 460. Do you think I should send the graphics card back and get a different one? I still have a day or two before my return period ends...

Edit: Also my tuner card in the PCI slot works just fine.(Unfortunately this is a terrible card and I don't really use it)

Yes I think that would be a good idea. I am not convinced that it will make a difference as it may just be some incomaptibility but just to make sure.

EDIT: If you don't really use the card and it is cr@p why are you going to all this bother?

No the one in the PCI slot is crap. The one that I am trying to get to work is in the PCI-E slot and it is a very good card. I tried pulling the one in the PCI slot out to see if that made a difference and it did not.

Arg! Newegg is wanting to charge me $49.99 for the free HAWX 2 game I got with the card to return it. I wouldn't pay $4.99 for that game.  Anyway before I return it I want to make absolutely sure that this can't be fixed because it is going to cost me $49.99 for I game I don't even play. Any other ideas or have we hit a brick wall here?

I don't know about your consumer laws in the US but surely they can't charge you for something that is faulty. The fact that they bundled the software in with the card is not your fault!

The only other thing I can think of to try is putting the GPU in another computer to see if it works there. At least that will isolate where the problem is 100%.

I think I am probably just going to hold on to the video card. Honestly I don't think it is the problem. I think the motherboard is the problem. I don't know why, but for some reason when I put this card in it is disabling all of my other PCI-E slots. I am guessing it is a rare BIOS bug or something.

Try explaining the problem to GGTS and see if they can offer any help on the BIOS front.

It will probably take them several days to answer you but please let us know what they say.

Obviously CTX 460 card has device conflicts, you may need to check if other bios available on the GTX460 card update.

So basically they didn't say anything we didn't already know. I checked and there are no BIOS updates for the GTX 460.

So not exactly helpful really  The thing is they should be offering more help if you have bought one of their products and it isn't performing as it should.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I tried swapping out the motherboard to an Asus board and it is still having the same problem! The Vixs tuner cards showed up when Windows 7 was initially realigning with the new motherboard, but sure enough after the reboot they were gone again.

Well not very helpful situation really. But at least you now know it is not a problem with the Gigabyte motherboard per se. Have you tried on the Vix tuner cards forum form help?

I think that you should  go back to GGTS and explain to them in no uncertain terms that there is no updated firmware for the graphics card and it is up to them to sort it out.
