Yes it could be helpful certainly by giving us a pointer to the problem. We need the number code as well as the description.

Ok   I am going to kill this board....  The new one isnt in yet I have been trying to figure this one out.  I have figured one thing and that seems to be the reason it keeps rebooting.

When it resets it states that it is from OCing or change in power...  I can see the values and it says that my system is running at 2.93MHZ and not 2.8 as I haver a '30 processor.  I have tried everything to get it to run at 2.8 but in biios it always says 2.93 and further, there is something under my CPU ID that says:

CPUID000106A5 PATCH 1B00000011>

??????? Thoughts here?

This board just seems so screwy.  I have tried just about every angle including a total reset by removing the batt yesterday and then rebooted in use a few time...fine all day.

This morning I start using it and first Google crashes then reboot and BSODs which I cannot catch fast enough.

Is there something in the event viewer I can ull up that may help?  I cant find a reason but I am not that informed...

First thing I would advise you to do would be to go to Control Panel/System Properties/Advanced System Settings/Advanced tab/Startup and Recovery/Settings and untick the box marked Automatically restart and then OK.
That will stop the system rebooting before you can see what the BSOD says.

The OC is something that seems to come as standard on Gigabyte boards/BIOSes. I don't know if the idea is that you seem to get a free boost in speed or an advertising gimmick or what but they al seem to default to one step higher than they should. Mine is a 920 that should be 2.67 Ghz but it actually runs at 2.83 Ghz at stock.

Done,  I ripped the whole system out of the Survivor case and rebuilt it on my original HSPC bench where it should have been in the first place.  Now I can see a bit more, the first of which is that I have constant green and reds top left of the RAM where the CPU fan plugs in.  The book identifies this as this being the CPU voltage L1 and L2 whereas it should be off for normal.  Thoughts?  Using a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 which seems to be installed correctly...never a prob before and yes I added some Arctic Silver to the top of the CPU for better heat dissipation.

Ih and still no USB3 although the slot will work on my USB3 dock in USB2 mode.  Still doesnt recognize the SuperCrypt or RamCache USB at all regardless of how I format them.

The LEDs especaillly the green one are of no matter. The green one just lets you know that the CPU is slightly over it's default setting as we discussed earlier. I don't know why the red one is on though.

Dark Mantis... you are a good man and I will be back.  I decided to see if it was anything but the hardware so I ripped it all apart and put it together on my ASUS Rampage III once again.  Everything works without trouble...even USB3!

Once I get the new mobo, I will let you know how it goes..

What drivers and firmware are you trying?   Although I've never had any issues with the USB3 ports, you may want to try the latest drivers and firmware just to be sure, that is if you still have a board in your possession.

3027 Firmware
http://mbforum.gigabyte.de/forumdownload//Software/F302708FWUP1.exe

2.0.32.0 Driver
http://mbforum.gigabyte.de/forumdownload//Software/RENESAS-USB3-Host-Driver-20320-setup.exe

Works fine for me, have tried a few USB3 drives.

Here is some of my results with USB2 and 2 different USB3 drives, from a few weeks ago.

I have tried all the USB3 drivers and will once again should I have a prob with the new board.  I am reaching 240 with SuperCrypt and 130 with RamCache on Asus USB3.

Did you update the firmware as well, or just drivers?

Latest BIOS for the UD7?

Ok back.... new board diff problem eheheheh.

Received ans installed the new board and it works fine for USB3..

I now have a prob with my PCIE slots, in that, the video card (MSI GT460) will only work in slot one.  This is a problem because I need to install a Revo, LSI 9260-8i and wifi card and, for some reason, the last of the PCIe slots closest to the PSU does not want to work.

I figured O might even move the video card to cover the PCI and go wiresless through usb but no luck.

The video card ONLY works in the first slot....can this be fixed?

Oh and updated bios to latest already.

Have you changed the Primary boot option for the graphics in the BIOS to suit the new slot?

It should read Initialise Disply First PCIEx16_2 or similar depending on whcih slot is to be used.

If you mean the Init Disply First in the Advanced BIOS options then yes.  I have tried to set it to the correct card without success...

The problem is not even the bios will boot from any slot except the first...

I figured once I updated the bios that might help....nope.... Now, once again I have pulled the plug and battery and will let it sit for awhile to reset itself.
