It is weird but occasionly we do hear of these keyboard/mouse incompatibilities. I wouldn't like to say what actually causes them though as there must be very many more people with the same combination that work fine.

Happened again, so I went for a bios update. I also made sure to turn off the floppy controller in the BIOS (entirely turned it off). I suppose that could have been causing the ruckus the whole time as I don't recall what the setting was prior to the bios flash, but so far it hasn't happened since. My next try is the IR port (if needed), which I should probably disable anyhow since I don't use it, but I've seen other people having similar issues where that didn't help.

I guess I'll wait and see if it happens again and go from there. I appreciate all of the back and forth though. If nothing else it got me thinking...

Well fingers crossed that it has fixed the problem, however it is always best to disable everything that you don't need in the BIOS as if nothing else it speeds up the POST time.
