Bios Setting Question about i7 950 and GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 1.0)

2i0

Hi
I have some issues with the motherboard i just made a new system with i7 950 and GA-X58A-UD3R and noticed some LEDs turn ON on the mobo: like 4(2green-2yellow)  Phase LED,  almost all Yellow-Greend on DDR Voltage-Phase LED AREA, and Green LED CPU Temp & sometimes "blinks" a Red LED, this happens when i boot the pc and some leds turnoff when Windows start but that red blink looks bad on IDLE.

BIOS version: F5
CPU Multi: 23x (3.06GHz)
DRAM: 1066Mhz DDR3 1.5V just for now.
CPU VCore: **1.3v** auto value in mobo this is normal for an i7 950??? im thinking to set to 1.2v.
all other stuff looks normal

im thinking OC 950 for proper settings of OCZ1600MHz DDR3 6GB(8-8-8-24-88-2N 1.66v) what would be best 950 OC for these?

do i update the bios ????? for fix this?

At first time use only default BIOS parameters for CPU / RAM ... and minimum of components ( one memory stick ; one harddisk by exemple ) ...

Set only for interessant features as AHCI / IDE .. start DVD or Harddisk ...in BIOS

If you have instability test with another power supply after ...

All LEDS lighting up like a Xmas tree.........normal!..........red LED blinking ... not normal (from my memory)

follow what Pierre said...when stable update BIOS to latest......this should set CPU Voltage to 2.68 or there a bouts!

Once stable reset memory to 1333 with the stated timings and reboot and test.......and then come back with the results!

PC rig on my sig, I just update the bios to F6 from F5 and setting this on bios:

Voltage:
CPU VCore:  1.2V from *1.3V* Why F5 and F6 Bios auto default 1.3V?? i cannot OC until i get a better cooling so i keep with stock speeds.
Memory voltage: 1.66V from 1.5V default - needed for 1600 RAM right?, cannot pick 1.65V just 1.64.
VTT/QPI - 1.315V from 1.175V default - i get this change from oczforum for set RAM to 1600 from 1066MHz, but its good? i wish someone can help me to set the correct values on bios to properly use of the RAM.

DRAM Config:
Speed Default: 1066 - so i change to 12(1600MHz) and 8-8-8-24 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS), tRFC to 88 and Command Rate to 2N.

the good no more blinking red led on CPU LED-AREA, but the 3RD(L3) LED of CPU Voltage AREA and 2ND LED of DRAM Voltage AREA turns Green-Yellow, there is a way for these LEDs turn-off??? idont like much see that green-yellow lights ON, i feel like something is wrong on the mobo, cpu, ram.

 Thanks.

There their for a purpose.......I would be more worried if they were off then showing green or yellow......red you worry!

The only way of turning off the LEDS is at the wall socket!

If your Memory is running at 1600 with no BSODs........your out of the blocks nicely......VTT/QPI is up there, but not out of the ball park

What temps are you getting at Idle and what cooler?

Have you flashed it to the latest BIOS.....if you go over to station drivers....http://www.station-drivers.com/page/gigabyte/ga-x58a-ud3r.htm

it's out to about F7M..... start with F7.....this should fix some of your worry's and give you a good base line to work off.
