Hello crownpiyush,

The default BIOS appears to be working. Change your setting in BIOS one at a time to try to isolate which one(s) is/are stopping your BIOS from booting.

Keep a detail list of the BIOS options tried and their results and post it to this thread for analysis. Start with simple BIOS change like disabling "Full Screen LOGO" , Enabling "Quick Boot" . and enabling "USB legacy devices"... Go through all the BIOS settings you need to change one at a time. If a BIOS option works keep the change and save the profile using F11. If a BIOS option does not work do not use it the next time. Reload your last successfull BIOS profile through F12 and then try to make another needed BIOS change. Post BIOS changes that worked and those that did not.

Take it slow, be analitical and keep detailed records of your changes. Make your future posts as detailed as possible so that folks can get a complete picture of your actions and their effects on your system.

Good luck,

Try following these instructions. It might take several attempts to get right but just persevere.

You can kick in the backup BIOS by shutting down the PSU from the wall, then hold down your case power button in and then turn on the power supply button, a few seconds later the board will start, shut off the power supply then.   Then you can turn on the power supply again and power up the board normally and DualBIOS will kick in.

it worked but only for once and after unstalling gigabyte softwares except drivers booting time improves now it takes only 5 - 10 seconds.
the time i "LOAD OPTIMIZED DEFAULT" there is only beep sound but no startup screen.

Well the single beep just confirms that POST has completed successfully so you know there is not much wrong with the motherboard/cpu.

Have you tried with the monitor attached to the onboard  port ?

Have you tried with the monitor attached to the onboard  port ?

When i connect via the DVI input on the monitor, it look great with sharp text and the correct desktop size.
and now i got this message " The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics adapter , or enable your Ati adaptor using the displays manager.
When I connect via the HDMI input on the monitor, the text looks fuzzy and I have a black border round the desktop.why the HDMI input is so poor compared to the DVI input?
i m using all the latest drivers and checked with two hdmi cables.

and startup screen starts coming and beep sound also working fine but the time  i change BIOS settings again the same problem occours and now this poor display problem.........tell me wat to do now ?

Hello crownpiyush,

Looks like your facing a wee bit of a challenge. It is a bit difficult to follow exactly your actions and changed setting to make a sound analysis. Please post following info:

1- How many monitors are you using? (Also state common names & part numbers)
2- What motherboard BIOS version are you working with?
3- Post the motherboard Intel Video driver version you are using...
4- Post the motherboard RealTek Audio driver version you are using...
5- Post the ATI catalyst version you are using...
6- Post the video cables and connectors used.. (include connectors adaptors if any used)

When making future postings, specifically included the following info:

1- Monitor(s) used, connection type(s) and cable(s) used
2- VGA bios settings for: "Init Display first", "Onboard VGA" and "On-Chip Frame Buffer Size"

Suggest you try to boot your with following set up:

1 monitor with DVI-D connection from ATI video card to monitor
ATI Video card inserted in PCIE x16 expansion slot
BIOS video settings as follow: "Init Display first" set to "PCIE x16" ; "Onboard VGA" set to "Enable If No Ext PEG"

If above does not work try again this time using "Onboard VGA" set to "Auto"

Report Back...

When you are using the HDMI port it will need tweaking to get it to fill the screen correctly. You will need to go into Catalyst Centre and change the overscan or underscan setting until it is the right size.

@Dark Mantis

When you are using the HDMI port it will need tweaking to get it to fill the screen correctly. You will need to go into Catalyst Centre and change the overscan or underscan setting until it is the right size.

Ans: overscan make the display right size but whenever i play games they are not coming in fullscreen theres a green border round the display and i also checked game settings fullscreen mode is enabled.

and when i use onboard HDMI port i donot need to overscan the size it fits correctly.

Hello crownpiyush,

Your monitor has to be the most versatile monitor I have come across insofar as the numbers of connectors it offers. I also like their location, it makes it so much easier to access for a desktop mount.

Since you only have one monitor and are not using multiple displays,  I suggest that you change your BIOS setting for "Onboard VGA" from "AUTO" to "Enable If No Ext PEG". These will turn off your onboard graphics. There is no use to waste voltage and cpu cycles for a BIOS option that you do not use.

The Driver versions you posted for the RealTek audio and Intel onboard Graphics do not match the versions recommended for your motherboard on the gigabyte site. Why? (RealTek V5.10.0.6433 which possibly needs BIOS F4) (VGA Intrl V15.22.50.64.2509)

Have you installed the Display driver for your monitor? Have you installed the Samsung Mopnitor software that came on the CD. The latter software as an option to control screen resolution and could possibly conflict with Resolution settings in ATI Catalyst or Windows. If you are not using it suggest you take it off and use the manual controls on the monitor to make needed display modifications when warranted.

You have a very good monitor which needs a full digital connection to provide you with its full capabilities. Using the VGA connection and going to an analog signal is detrimental. You must get HDMI to work and/or buy a DVI cable with 2 DVI-D male connectors (< $20.00 US).

There are 2 locations in Catalyst to set video scaling. they are located under "My digital Flat-Panel" and are: "Properties Digital Flat-Panel > Image Scaling" and "Scaling Options Digital Flat-Panel" . Which one of the two have you used and what options have you set?

When playing games look at the in-game resolutions offered and try to select ones that matches your default recommended monitor resolution (1920 x 1080) 16:9 or one of the better resolution supported by your monitor. Check your games for updates as well since many games are being updated to offer XXXX x 1080 resolutions with 16:9 ratios. If you have older games you may need to set a 4:3 display ratio.

Good luck,

thanks aloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot buddy  :) now my display is fine with clear text and right display.i disabled the onboard graphics and using HDMI cable with no problem.
and i downloaded Realtek Audio Driver version. - 5.10.0.6433 and in device manager its showing version. - 6.0.1.6392 , why is it so ?
anyways i am not facing any problem with audio yet and i also contact Gigabyte tech support and this is what they replied :-

Dear Piyush,

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. It is normal when boot up computer without beep sound because using quick boot function will omit some steps.

About LOGO screen, you can enter "BIOS"-->"Advanced BIOS Features" to set "Full Screen LOGO Show" as disabled to close it and don't forget to save the setting. Please click HERE to refer the manual on page 49.

If you still have any further question or suggestion about our products/service, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will try our best to help you resolve the problem ASAP.

Regards,
GIGABYTE

so please tell me is it right that enabling quick boot function will omit some steps ? and this is the only reason why there is no beep on power-on ?

Glad to hear that you now have clear text and a sharp picture using Radeon HS 6870's HDMI connection.

How is the Full screen display in games now using your HD Radeon 6870? Is it working OK? Do you still have to use CAT scaling? If so, what settings?

What screen resolution are you using as default?

I always disable "Full Screen Display" so that I may see and follow through the various BIOS Boot screens.

I also always enable "Quick Boot" to shorten the BIOS boot process. Your BIOS then shortens its boot sequence by omitting or shortening some tests. The most significant is not doing a full RAM check which can be quite time consuming if you have lots of memories on board. As long as your system boots OK, do not worry about the missing short beep on initial BIOS boot. Try to boot with Quick Boot enabled and disabled and watch the RAM display on the first BIOS boot screen. With Quick Boot enabled you will get by the RAM check portion done faster and your hard drive will be detected quicker.

Have fun...
