Well its up to You :) Shogun 2 is one of the games that need the BIOS update( other games : Portal 2, Deus Ex...)
Also sometimes windows FX fixes helped but mostly it is required to have the newest BIOS

PS You can check the BIOS version in a program named CPU-Z

Also check here http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=8400.0
Theres a FDalpha bios that You can get from Gigabyte support

The only way to find out is to check it :) Just make sure to have a copy of Your current BIOS on a USB drive just in case ;)

Ok , seems like that alpha build seems to think that i have a 2.8ghz proccessor and i actually bought this pc with 4.2ghz processor is this just a visual throwoff? or is my processor actually degraded itself lol.

There is no 4.2Ghz processor. What they meant was that they had used a 2.8Ghz or whatever and overclocked it to run at 4.2Ghz instead. Problem is that if the BIOS gets corrupted or anything it will be overwritten by the normal Backup BIOS and the settings will go back to standard.
