I recently purchased:
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H Motherboard - AMD 785G, ATI Hybrid CrossFireX, PCIe 2.0, USB 2.0, RAID, HDMI, DVI, VGA
AMD Phenom X4 9750 Quad Core Processor - 2.40GHz, 4MB Cache, 3600 MT/s FSB, Quad-Core, Socket AM2+, OEM Processor
Startech 2-Port PCI Express 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter Card - PCIe, 2000 Mbps, IEEE 802.3/u/ab
Ultra X-Wind Socket K8/AM2/AM2+/AM3 Copper CPU Cooling Fan
2x 1 TB SATA harddrives
Corsair XMS2 4GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz - 2x2048MB
So everything went great to install the OS. Then I added the Startech PCI-e network card. The computer would not post even to the bios screen. I remove the card and it posts fine. Tried the card in the PCI-e x16 slot and MB will not post. I put the NIC card in another machine and it boots fine and O/S recognizes 2 additional NICs.
Tried a PCI-e video card in the PCI x16 slot and that posts fine. I do not have anothe PCI-e card to try...
I've gone it to the bios and chose fail-safe, optimized, and even set video onboard and HDMI out. Still the motherboard will not post when the NIC card is in.
Any suggestions?
