Hey guys, I have a GA-970A UD3 with a FX-6300. At stock speed (4.1 GHZ) the TMPIN2 (Northbridge) is 60C under load. It got up to 85C when OCed to 4.5 GHZ.
Now I've been doing research and members claim that the NB is safe at 55C and under, whereas other members say Gigabyte has told them that unless instability occurs, there's no need to worry about it and that it can even run fine at 90C.
Of course lower is better, but is there any official word or consensus about a safe max operating temperature for the northbridge?
Note: I'm actually not sure if TMPIN2 is the NB, right now it says its at 27C but when I touch the NB it is searing hot, I cant leave my finger on it for a second! I'm thinking it may be the VRM sensor, someone please confirm :
