Recently put together a new machine with this motherboard.
I have assembled the machine correctly, and all of the hardware is connected securely and properly. I have connected an empty HDD that has no operating system installed on it. Additionally, I have connected a USB keyboard.
Upon starting the machine, POST initiates and reports a single short beep through the connected speaker, indicating that no problems are detected at startup. The monitor then displays the message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_." Pressing a key on the attached keyboard causes the machine to respond, indicating that the motherboard and keyboard are communicating properly, and the message is repeated and the machine awaits another prompt.
In order to configure the attached HDD, I must enter the BIOS setup menu, which is accomplished by pressing <delete> during POST according to the manual. However, doing this accomplishes nothing, and instead I am still greeted with the same message as before.
As of right now, I have a machine that shows a single message on the screen, and the only interaction I can apparently have with this machine is to press any button and have the same message be repeated ad-infinitum.
Does anyone know why the BIOS setup menu is not presented to me when pressing or holding <delete> during POST?
