. The number of BIOS revisions released for a particular board is NOT denoted in the revision number. The following are examples of things that could constitute a revision change:
-Changing the location of a FAN header or board layout
-Adding LED path lighting
-Implementing/using a later revision of a controller chip, sound chip, etc
-Changing the brand of capacitors used
-Adding support for additional CPUs, types of memory, enhanced compatibility (BIOS)
Stuff like that. The board revision allows the manufacturer keep track of the hardware components/configuration and/or features implemented when a board is produced and released.
