[GA-970A-UD3] long time to start until bootloader grub2..

hello

my motherboard is GA-970A-UD3, bios version F3 (bios data: 2011/08/31)
cpu amd phenom II X6 1100T
Ram 16GB
video: radeon HD6870
os: LINUX opensuse 13.1 64bit, bootloader grub2, kde4.

then i want to know WHY from 0 to 27 seconds (until start of bootloader of Grub2) are slow.. i want fast time like 5-10 seconds..
but WHY?? i record video and you can see video link video zipped:

my friend has his notebook i did see start bios to boot of windows seven is 2 seconds!!!!!! but my gigabyte does not same like 2 seconds of my friend notebook?

problem is gigabyte or bios?

this problem is not start today but when i was buy year 2012 same long time 27 seconds, i was not according and now i did see my friend's notebook is faster to boot... so i wanted to ask you and open this topic for to understand and know ok?

my gigabyte is not broke and works as perfect, i want to know WHY long time like 27 seconds... for me are long time right? or it's normal? or gigabyte is old and obsolete?? or need to fix or need to update??

I would update it to latest official release of bios. F7.  Also if you are using a platter drive that is good time for startup. If you want to start up faster invest in a Solid State Drive.

i have ssd vertex 3, but is not problem of ssd or hdd because 27 second is problem FROM BIOS OR MOTHERBOARD!!!
my ssd is faster from boot: bootloader grub2 to kde4 time is 2 seconds this not problem to grub2 and kde4 (opensuse)

Check a couple of things like "Init Display First" By default is set to PCI slot. What is the "First Boot" set at. By default it is set for the floppy drive.

Your hard drive should be the first boot. You want the Pcie slot first boot. Plus how many usb drives you have connect to your computer? 

That will slow down the boot. When you have a lot things connected it has to check everything before you boot to the boot loader.

One other thing you can do is disconnect everything but the SSD. See how it boots. Then reconnect one thing at a time to what is causing the long boot.

Plus check your memory by using one sick at a time to see if one of the sticks giving you a problem too.

floppy : i havent floppy and disabled floppy for boot.

I understand what is happening and there is maybe 99.99% of the people run windows here. That bios for a AMD machine is booting normal.

But you are running Linux. So it is like Linux GRUB2 is doing the same thing that the bios has just done. Checking everything till you get to the GRUB2 too.

The only thing I can add to this is join that forum I posted. Ask over there if there is any thing you can do to speed up the boot.

i did try boot to windows's bootloader, THEN SAME PROBLEM LONG TIME26-27 seconds(from bios booting to windows's bootloader...)

ok efi and uefi is very fast to booting from bios?
i mean: boot like as 3-5 sec from bios to bootloader's grub2/windows7 right?

If you set it up EFI or UEFI it should boot really fast. My windows 8.1 will boot in about 15 to 18 sec from a cold boot.
