Nothing at all to do with this issue but why all the negative comments about Windows 8.1?
If you dislike it so much you are really going to hate Windows 10 too.
I have been running Windows 8 & 8.1 on a wide variety of PC's and Laptops since its release and have had no more issues than I have had with any Windows version. Yes, there was a steep learning curve in the beginning and things are different but I have to say that I have found it to be a very solid and reliable OS.
This OS is hated by more people than Vista. Yes once you get to know how to get around it isn't to bad of OS. But the thing is that people don't like change. You, autotech, me & most of the people that help people.
Might not have as much problem learning how use the OS. But the avg person will not. About 80% of the people just know how to turn on the computer get to facebook, emails, banking & get on the internet.
This was like most people had to learn everything over again. You know that everything you do on those computers and laptops that Microsoft knows what you are doing. Unless you start turning thing off like clouds and other apps.
If Microsoft had come out with two different OS one PC and one for the tablet. They would have been a lot better off. I think people will like 10 because they brought back the start menu. Believe or not that is what people want from the start.
