Z68 Chipset Windows 10 Support

Z68 Chipset Windows 10 Support
« on: August 01, 2015, 10:41:07 pm »
MaxPC published an article that indicates Gigabyte published Windows 10 drivers for the GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 motherboard. The link is here:

http://www.maximumpc.com/windows-10-graphics-cards-and-motherboard-drivers-updating/

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro x64 yesterday. There are no Windows 10 drivers listed for the mobo on Gigabyte's site. Unfortunately I could not install the latest Win 7 x64 Intel Chipset drivers for the board rendering 4 SATA ports inoperable (3/4/5/6). I tried using an earlier version of the driver with the same result in addition to trying compatibility mode.

May I ask someone clarify:

1) Is MaxPC full of MaxBS?
or
2) Is Gigabyte saying their tests indicate the Win 7 x64 Chipset drivers work with Windows 10?

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated

MJ

Thank you all for responding.

I tried looking for Intel drivers on their website as well but found it almost futile to navigate.

The drivers Windows 10 would not install were the Intel Chipset drivers v9.4.0.1027 from Gigabyte's site as well as the previous version. The Marvell Chipset drivers installed just fine. Go Marvell.

I've since reverted back to Win 7 so I am not eager to try the Win 8.1 drivers at the expense of another install but on my days off I could make an image to make the experience less painful I suppose.
