LAN issues with GA-Z270-HD3 and a solution.
« on: March 26, 2017, 10:00:29 pm »
Hi all,
I've just joined the forum as I came across an issue with the ethernet port on my Z270 HD3 motherboard.
Looking around the internet I found that quite a few people had the same issue with no reliable solution.
The issue is that after installing the LAN software from the Gigabyte driver disc or from the website, the network adapter is not recognised.
This is because the drivers supplied by Gigabyte are not the correct ones.
Uninstall them and  Google "intel i219-v drivers". You can download the drvers from the Intel website. This got my network adapter working and gaming without wi-fi latency.
I hope this helps some people out there.

Greetings,
If you do a comparison if the v21.1 drivers offered by Gigabyte and Intel, they are identical:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26593/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=82186

V22.1 is available on Intel's website.  I suspect the issue you experienced was caused by the cFOS Network Accelerator Utility...  which I recommend you avoid.

In most cases yes. (intel platforms).  Also available for download in Utilities.  Its basically a traffic shaping software utility.  If you run the MB CD and select "Install Everything"...  you get a whole bunch of unnecessary stuff that loads itself at start up and increases boot times.  Much of it borders bloatware (IMO), but some of it is useful.

Ah, that explains a lot!
Good bit of info!
Next time I'll install the drivers manually.
