problem with h55-usb3,pls help fast

i just bought this operation system:intel core i5-750+gigabyte h55-usb3+gigabyte gt220-1G graphic+2gig ddr3 Geil ,bus :1333 +1T WD cavior black+460w coolermaster power supply.
it restart in start up of windows and after 3 times restarting it comes up.
i have some problems with games too,for example it cant  simply perform modern war fare2,and monitor screen flash during the game and after 5 min it hangs up.
is it possible that it be graphic prob?
is this power supply enough for this operation or not.
i want to change it to 580w,can it help?

Almost certainly your power supply is far to small. Change that and if you still have any problems post again.

As DM said, your PSU is too small. The manual for my motherboard GA-P55A-UD3 states a minimum PSU of 500W.
You need to look at the manual with your graphics card and consult peak load.

Alternatively if you have computer magazines, look through the adverts, find similar hardware and see what they use.

I have a plugin wattmeter, undle idle my system average  takes 133/140 watts raising to about 170/180W under load.

Please note however that digital plug-in wattmeters can only show after 3 readings per second.
With Intel quad cores, millions of transistors can switch simultaneously, if this happens (and does) then
peak instantaneous power can exceed the demand of your 430 w power supply. Hope that helps

Hello hal, you are of course correct but I would advise to use the online calculators that most decent PSU companies have on their websites to work out the minimum size of PSU required.

Thanks Dark Mantris, now that is a useful link, never thought to check if suuch a site existed.
Ran it through my sytem and it produced results from 450W to 650W. I think its better to over-estimate
when regarding PSU's.

Yes you should always over estimate  the size of PSU for your build because it is one of the few computer parts that does deteriorate with time and usage. This is mainly down to the large capacitors losing their efficiency over time. So make sure that yopu build in a bit of headroom.

Take it back and change it for a decently rated model if I were you. Go at least 650w if not more. You have a 500w motherboard  a fairly top end graphics card and drives etc all taking power and then you have to remember  that is rated when new as it ages it will drop in output because of capacitor droop etc and you will be pushing the limits. Not only that but if you want to upgrade your graphics or sometning else thenm you have a bit of built in overhead.
