GA-P55-USB3: Problem with 4 * 2Gb ram

I have a MB I'm trying to run with 8GB of ram in 4 sockets. These are 2 kits of matched pairs (not a one kit with 4). It is Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 memory. Bios is ver F8. MB is rev 2.0.
Each of the modules work fine separatly and in pairs, no errors with Memtest86+. When I put in all 4 the machine won't boot at all. I have tried the pairs in different slots. One pair works in every combination (1&3, 1&2, 3&4), the other just works when I put them in slot 1&3, not in 1&2 and 3&4.
I have tried changing the memory frequency and set the voltage to 1.65. Nothing helps when trying to run all 4 modules.
So my questions;
1) Is it impossible to get two pairs of matched pairs to work together ?
2) In this config should the matched pair be in socket 1&2 or1&3 ?
3) Does the differnt behavior of the to pairs indicate anything?

It sounds to me as if one of the modules at least might be faulty. I would suggest downloading and running Memtest86+ and checking one module at a time for at least 10 loops. If any fail they are faulty.

Bbut, not 10 full passes on all, but a least 2... I'm redoing it now with 10 passes.

You need to do about 10 because often it will pick up the faults on 5 or 7.

ok, the two suspected modules are now tested 10+ times - no errors. I'll do the same with the two that seems to work flawlessly.

Yes better to test and be 100% sure that all your memory is working flawlessly.

No, the machine doesn't get past POST with 4 modules inserted. In my first post is the precise combinations that works and not described

Have you tried booting with all four modules installed and set to 1333 in the BIOS? It may not be the memory's problem but just the fact that it is trying to be pushed beyond the JEDEC rated limit.

The other thing to consider is are you running the latest BIOS update?

Yepp, I have tried 1333, 1066 and even 800. At 800 it boots like every third time.

I think F8 is the latest.

Sorry about that strange answer, I misread your question.
No I don't have any other DRR3 modules to try with.

Well even though Memtest says that the modules are ok I still feel that there is no other explanation for the problem except faulty memory. I would advise RMAing it and having it replaced.

 gigabyte motherboards?

This motherboard have big problems. I tried most of the recommend memory's and nothing seems to work.

To the Management of gigabyte:

Dear Gigabyte managers I WILL NEVER BUY GIGABYTE'S MOTHERBOARD AGAIN. The support is a piece of crap the answer is always the same. do this, do that, always the same piece of sh*t.
