GB x58 USBB3
i7 950 with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
G.SKILL PI Series 12GB 1600
Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 90GB SSD with Win7 Home Premium 64bit
One WD 2 TB Caviar Green
One WD Velociraptor
MSI 470 GTX
Rosewill Firewire Adaptor (PCI Express)
MSI Wireless card (PCI Express)
PSU: Ultra 4x 1050
Bios Version F2 & Board Version 1.0
Board set at Turbo with Memory running in Profile 1 (XMP)

Built this about 3 weeks ago.  Everything is running fine but  I have a nagging issue that I have yet to get an acceptable answer for:
After a cold boot, the Phase LED's will come on for about five seconds.  Going from top to bottom they show as 2 Red, 2 Yellow and 2 Green.  From what I can find (Manual says nothing) they have something to do with the fact that I am running my memory at 1600 - essentially overclocked.  After the POST beep, there is a 2 second buzz that sounds as well. None of this happens on a simple reset.

I am planning on putting in a second 470 in SLI but I am worried I am pulling too much juice in the system too fast.
Adjustments I have done with no effect:  Set QPI/vTT to Normal (locking it at 1.25) Now runs Auto at 1.45.  Set CPU voltage to Normal then back to Auto

BTW:  This is my first Gigabyte MOBO ever-I actually won it in a F@H contest.  My builds have been about  80% ASUS, 10% Intel and 10% XFX.  Easier setup than my old Pro-Turbo and less tweaking than my 680i.  The placement of the PCI and the #2 PCI Express x16 are not the best but that is specific to my setup.  I will definitely be buying a GB board for my next build.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

What you are describing is perfectly normal and is part of the POST process when doing a cold boot. My board GA-X58A-UD7 lights up like a Christmas tree. I am not too sure what is causing the buzz but it is possibly a fan that comes on at full speed for a couple of seconds before adjusting to what it is meant to be running at.

Thanks for the information.  I feel a little bit better.  I was worried I might see a plume of smoke one day.  The buzz is coming from the speaker on the board so I am a little confused by that.  Not a standard POST sound I am used to.

Thank you again.

Chances are then that it is picking up some extraneous electrical noise from the other cables or even the mains if it is at about 50cps.
