GA-P35-DS3P rev. 2.0, F11 and F12 bioses don't work

Right. I tried updating the bios, using the @bios software, to F12 version just to find out the pc wouldn't even boot. I sent it to a tec assistance and they had the same problem, F11 and F12 bioses = no boot.
Basicly I'm stuck with bios F10 and I can't get a cheap cpu upgrade (C2D E6750 -> C2Q Q8400) because god knows why. This is stupid.

Don't bother telling me to reflash it. I'd have no pc to work on or post with. I spent $30 on that tec assist for NOTHING.

This is my setup (other than mobo in thread subject duh):
Corsair HX520 power supply
2x1GB Corsair DDR2-800
2x500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue
MSI Radeon HD3850 256MB
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Windows XP SP3

     How did you post this then ? ? ? ? ?.......Ahhhh! F10!.... you may want to reread the section in the manual about dual Bios, yes you have two just for this very reason

  In some very rare instances, if there is a problem with flash a giga board, it's with @Bios...... I do use it my self sometimes but the Guru's tell me never, ever.......use "Qflash instead.........sorry as you told me not too......but that's the answer.

  If you can't get a cheap CPU upgrade, .... what about an expensive one...

I used @bios, the tecs used the qflash utility and yes, they disabled it.

I do have to ask a question though, why do you feel the need to update your BIOS, is it to allow you to run a different CPU or just because updates are available?

F12 bios is supposedly the only one that supports C2Q Q8400, according to gigabyte's cpu support list in their website. Since I can't afford another major pc upgrade, updating to that bios is the only way.

Yes, I know it can feel like it, especially when you are trying to get something resolved. 

Sadly for you, this forum is UK based and as such we have no real influence over what happens in other parts of the world. 

They will reply eventually and, if they are anything like the Tech Support guys over here, they will do their best to resolve the issue for you.

Having read all the fun and games that has been happening here and everyones advice seems to be fair to me. I would say it is worth trying an extended CMOS clear and then reload the latest optimised BIOS settings. Please follow these instructions exactly!


Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least six hours before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Gigabyte's support answered me; they said the same thing. I did all of that repeatedly - except the wait for 6 hours part, but 10min -, it... just... won't... work.
I already have the Q8400, now I can only pray that it will boot when I put the cpu on the socket despite the F10 bios not officially supporting it. If not, I don't think gigabyte will miss my money in further upgrades.
