OCZ Vertex SSD and GA-MA770T-UD3P

Hi all.
Will those SSD drives  perform fine?. I am assuming my board being SATA 3/gbs can make the most of the SSD spees connected via SATA?.
Or would I need some sort of controller. Sorry I don't understand the connectivity surrounding SSD.

Hi there,

Attaching an SSD is pretty much the same as an HDD and the only thing to really remember is that you will need to be running in AHCI mode to get the best from the SSD.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Yes as absic has already explained a SSD is very similar in connection requirements to a magnetic disk drive. The differences really come after connection with configuring it properly to get the best out of it and to make the drive last longer. Ideally use a SSD (largest you can afford) for the boot drive and then use a large magnetic drive for data storage and programs etc.
