GTX560 Ti OC (GV-N560OC-1GI)

I spent ages finding the right GPU, and this 560Ti OC was ideal,
I then specifically decided on Gigabyte as the company I wanted to buy from, as had heard good things.

So then I get my Card and a few weeks later it starts artifacting  after a few searches I end up here, and see many many GTX560tiOC owners with the same issues.
What are Gigabyte playing at? Its months since this first came to light, and there cards are still there for sale, playing the odds it seems?
I was going to use Gigabyte for my upgrade new motherboard etc, but I'm pretty disappointed with this whole thing to have much confidence now.

My card? , well same as others, even artifacts on the menus of dirt3, all the time in OCCT, or heaven benchmarks, Even at the desktop it will come up with errors, and then recover.
Yep, used msi tool and downclocked it and all is fine however I didn't pay £205.97 for a reference card.

So what to do, well RMA with ebuyer, and get another one I suppose, if that's bad too then it'll be refund time.

I realize that over-volting it may make the 900mhz stable - but I'm reluctant to void a warranty esp with no input from the company
Just wondering if there are any updates to this card issue?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

There are some cards around that have been suffering from this issue. It would seem as if the original pick of the chips for overclocking wasn't as tight as it should have been and so a percentage have ended up failing at the overclocking level. As you noticed they usually work fine at the reference level.

Often customers have found that by removing the factory overclock and thewn overclocking themselves manually they have reached a stable and sometimes even higher overclock.

A new firmware update may well fix the issue when they release one.

I'm assuming your just a volunteer mod, and are not employed by Gigabyte? (correct me if wrong)

I have emailed Gigabyte, but no response yet.

Looking at the info provided by MSI utility, I see I'm on Bios 11, I did hear that there may be a v12 around somewhere..
If there is a fix, update, I'm more than willing to try it, but don't intend to void my warranty doing so. It will be going in for replacement in a few days.

Just a shame that my first experience with Gigabyte is so disappointing.

You are absolutely correct we are all volunteers on this forum apart from runn3R the Gigabyte Administrator who is on vacation at the moment, why would they pay for something they can get for free!

If you are concerned regarding invalidating the warranty by applying a firmware update that is not the case wth Gigabyte. Updates and fixes are all fair game and they are quite happy for owners to use them.

You could try contacting GGTS about the issue:

Already done Grandfather Mantis, saw the other thread, and sent all my info to gigabyte.

No not worried about bios updates etc, just voltage changes that are not approved.
I did play with my voltages to see where the issue would be resolved and after an hour of testing the errors taper off and then stop when reaching 1050mV (stock 1000)
That's not a particularly high change and mentioned to gigabyte that a bios with those extra 50 millivolts would suit me fine. will wait and see what they say.

Actually asked for two bios's bioi  bio'es hrm, not sure of the plural there lol
One with increased voltage to run with their overclock and another with the stock clocks of a reference card.

The Factory Overclock on this card is not stable.
This is a very disappointing first experience with Gigabyte.

Can you please send me out a revised bios.
Two would be better:
1, with a revised voltage - see below
2, with nividia's reference design, clocks (822/1645)

For this particular card
A voltage of 1050mV makes your OC stable (Stock is 1000mV)

If you have another resolution then please let me know.
If I end up having to RMA several of your cards, I will be disinclined to choose Gigabyte again.

Well, what to say, I can only conclude that Gigabyte are a bunch of idiots.
The Bios they sent me has no increase in voltage at all.

It shows up as the original bios (70.24.11.00.01) in most tools, gpuz, msi afterburner, nvida system tools etc.
It seems they just renamed a stock bios and sent it out while lying about the voltages.

They even ignored my request to obtain a underclocked bios, so I could at least have a stable card without running other programs to change voltages.

I was disappointed, now I'm totally pissed, This card is going back to vendor as faulty, and I'm certainly not going to buy anything Gigabyte again. (without a comprehensive reason as to what happened here) which is a shame as I was liking the Z68XP-UD3-iSSD

Bios updated was done with nvflash in dos.

I will probably get sacked for this but I see it too often. GGTS especially on the Graphics Card side just don't seem to care enough or maybe understand about helping customers with problems properly. They don't seem to realise that they cannot just fob people off with answers and files that are not relevant. As I have said before Gigabyte make a very good product but it is let down too often by the support side in Taiwan which gets the company a bad name.

If you get sacked you can come and work for my IT Business, (the one that is no longer using GByte products) 

Support is not really an issue for me personally, but if I'm building a PC for a client, or recommending a GPU during a consultation I have to have had first hand experience.  Sadly its experiences like this that turn me off an entire company.

For example
Asus - once took 8months and 20 emails to replace a motherboard - = don't use them for anything now.
Logitech - have replaced several items with no problem, and have a forum where Q are answered -= I use and recommend them a lot.

Luckily there are enough company's to pick and choose what works.
I'm going to snailmail a letter to GB head office - just to let them know what a pain buying from them was, not that I expect a reply, but I think it only fair as I will be defiantly be using social forums and my own social network to let others know of my experience when asked.

Thanks again for you reply D'Mantis, Its a shame Gigabyte seems to big and incompetent to offer anything in the way of support, even when the customer is doing everything to help resolve the issue.

Well I have been rapped over the knuckles before about daring to tell things how they are but I see no reason to bury my head in the sand. Besides they won't hire me, so it is unlikely that I will get sacked!  The thing is as you say you only continue to use companies that treat you properly when you are paying for a service or product. I used to be at Asus's Forum but left there because of their attitude towards customers. Oh well.

After "giving feedback" I just received another bios   

Only had time to run it through some testing for 20min, but so far it's looking good.
Increase in Voltage to 1.0625mv like the first one was supposed to be.

My testing before led me to believe that 1.05 was enough, but I've seen cards with 1.1010 run fine before.
Fingers crossed this will work and allow me to keep this card (great card)


Shame Gigabyte support is very curt and unhelpful, and not professional enough to appologise for their incompetence, or even for their product not being usable as sold in the first place.

Hopefully this BIOS will let you use the card properly as it should be running...very fast!
