Hi Absic!
Your going down a path I think will give best bang for buck in the next 12 to 18 months ...... drive manufactures are going to hit a wall if they keep plugging 1000Mb/s plus drives onto the market from 1,000 to 3,000 dollars US ..... It's a bloody recession for heavens sake.
I was very disappointed when OCZ cut the 100-120Gb revo 3 x2 opting for a 240Gb as the entry level Model ..... where talking of an average price of £600! ..... for 240Gb of storage! ..... sorry!, .... most people just don't have that sort of money ATM, ..... The reason why they got market penetration was with the Revo X2 ......which can be found for £250 ..... at that price, ....a lot of people will consider the outlay .... but at £550 .....not likely!
When you consider I've seen OCZ 60Gb Agility 3s, for £73 ..... so 4 of these adds up to less then £300 including shipping ..... run them in raid0 for a potential 2000Mb/s ..... bit of a no brainer really
Absic... I think DMs comment was a complement actually! after all , your approaching and exceeding similar speeds as we have with the Revo's
Can't for the life of me work out why the reads and writes are miles apart but as you said ...."Work in progress" ... let me know when you crack it.....will save me a lot of time when my four drives get purchased in the next month or two.
