Z68AP-D3 Boot Loop

Hi all,
I received my upgrade today which is as follows..
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
Intel i5 2500k
G-Skill Ripjaw 2x 4Gb 1600Mhz DDR3

The problem is.. its stuck in a boot loop.. This is a new build so not touched the bios.
I cant even get into the bios, All I have plugged in is my graphics card, power, dvi lead & usb keyboard (tryed the k/b in different sockets). Tryed a mouse and the light on it flickers when it should be solid when it gets power
It will go into an infinite loop restarting itself.
I have triple checked both power connections to the motherboard. Both power are plugged into the g/card.
There is no short circuits. I have all the brass standoffs in the correct positions.
I have just replugged in my old board, cpu & ram.. Test best stylie and powers up fine. Not PSU.

Any input would be greatful.. Other im taking it back sunday.
It is not my psu as it was running an overclocked Q6600 prior to pulling apart the machine about 6 hours ago, Which draws significantly more power than an i5.
HSF is mounted nice and solid, theres no heat issues.
In vain i also tryed a clear cmos via the jumper, but as i havent been in the bios  this seems wishful.

So within 6 hours of receiving this board I have been put off buying gigabyte again.

Hi louisbs,

What is your brand and model of HSF Heat Spreader Fan?

Be careful of the pressure exercised by the HSF on the processor.

If the air cooling is slightly ill-fitting on the cpu, you have a possible problem...

Because the integrated memory controller is in the processor, the situation is different about the pressure exerted on the attachment mechanism of CPU cooling.

So if by chance one or a few pins of the CPU is bad contact (too strongly pressed in the center, not enough or too much on one side on the other hand, it can give problems as the non-recognition of the entire ram or other boot problem...

If the pressure is higher on one side of the cpu is not good.

We really need the pressure of the cooler is balanced on the cpu. And also not too strong. Sometimes you need release the pressure, while ensuring it is fully equal on every side.

So check it...

My HSF is the Arctic Cooler Freezer 13 Pro.
I will adjust it now and see if it makes any difference at all.

have you a possibility to go a BIOS?

IF yes, in Bios Main Page. choose Load Optimize Defaults.

Nope I cannot.
I see the splash screen.. but it resets and it wont let me in the bios.

If I understand correctly, you will do or have done a Clear CMOS? And then give me new comments ...

Tryed That.. Had suggestions it need to loop to test everything. But for 2 hours..
Getting fed up now and i will be returning the board & cpu for a straight swap.

It would appear the bios somehow got corrupted..

somehow made it recover from the backup and im up and ready

Normaly a End Key is for Flash a Bios. When the post appears.

Somehow I made It recover the bios from its back.. it was corrupted.. Its up and running now after 7 hours of pain and misery.

Sorry didnt realise.
I have finally solved the problem.
The bios somehow went bad and copying a clean version from its dual bios has got it up and running.
I am now proceeding to install windows 7 on it and its going nice and quick :)
