Problem after Power Blip
« on: May 02, 2012, 05:28:54 pm »
I have a EP45-UD3P which is working well but one issue.  While surfing internet, just had a quick power failure and power went back on after about one second.  However, without any intervention on my part the computer just went into a repeated cycle of trying to power up (fans + front case light) on and off over and over again without posting.  I shut it off by holding the front case power button for a few seconds and then unplugged the cord on the power supply for a few seconds.  When I plugged the cord back in and pressed the front case power button the computer started normally.  Why didn't it just stay off after the outage and why did I have to remove the power cord to get it to successfully power up?

FYI: I have AC Back Function in BIOS set to Soft-Off.

Hi

Just a glitch. Often the CMOS gets corrupted and requires it to be reset after this sort of occurance. It appears that you were lucky in that a complete power down fixed it for you.
