I know this is an old thread but Im looking for a solution to it myself.
I love Gigabyte boards... Absolutely I do. Ever since I got my first E6300 and the 965p DS3 I have loved them, and the DS3 in particular. I currently own 5 different DS3 boards, one is an AMD based and I found that cool.
Anyway, I am digressing...
I have had some issues with my Asus P7H55 and it shuts down for some reason that I canot work out and so bugger it, Im going back to Gigabyte and then this bloody thing... Well, its seemingly rock solid so far and yet 4GB only being used?
Ok, well before you go about RAM, I must inform you that I am lucky enough to be in a position where I have loads and loads of options. The RAM is good RAM. I am currently using 4 sticks of Kingston HyperX, but OCZ, Corsair, Crucial all show the exact same thing.
The BIOS sees all 4 sticks in, it also tells me that only 2 or the 4 slots are enabled?
- How can I enable teh other 2 then?
Windows ( and Linux ) shoow me that there is 8GB installed but only 4GB is useable, CPUS shows me the info about all 4 sticks.
So why only 4GB?
For the record I do not use any form of 32Bit O/S - its all 64Bit so its not that, but its just as if the Mobo seems to think that.
I was on BIOD F7 and slots 1 and 3 were anabled back then, but upping to F9 and now 10g its slots 1 and 2 that are enabled??? Why sturn off 3 and turn on 2?
Anyway... Anyone have any clues?
