Thanks for the update Faizoff!

For those who prefer not to wait so long and would like to avoid the small risk factor of a defective chip, here's another solution if you desire to run all SATA III ports: Internal PCI X SATA III card with internal SATA III ports/connectors.  You can find several different brands and I posted one for you here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816124037&cm_re=sata_III_card-_-16-124-037-_-Product

Personally, I do not like the idea of having to fork out more $$$ for someone else's mistake!

But at least this is an option if you still would like safety and assurance while you wait for the new boards.

Hope this helps!

"Any Gigabyte 6-series B2 motherboards that have already been sold will be accepted back for replacement with a B3 board"

“The replacement program will happen at the dealer/distributor level. You will have to exchange your board at the location you purchased it from.”

Great news and well done Gigabyte it’s like you read my mind on the perfect way to handle this  ;)

This means I have no faffing about shipping and receiving anything, I’ll just be on the phone to my local independent PC store that build my rig and arrange to have it replaced in my PC around April/May

Out of curiosity who here is going down the full refund route ? After all it’s only 3 to 4 months at max

It would seem to be the obvious way to tackle the problem and creates the least amount of disruption.

I do wonder who will pick up the bill for stripping down and rebuilding customers systems though.

Excuse me, my situation is this. I ordered a mb p67a_ud7 2 weeks, the shop for problems
availability has been slow in delivery.
Now I have sold my hardware and I have to deliver it today and the seller informed me that there will be
available until May.
One stop for three months ?????????
The seller refuses to send the goods to avoid the RMA in the near future.
What should I do?
 ??? ??? ??? ???

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I am in the same boat. I was due to get one this week but of course now it has been put back.  I think that there will be many people in this situation and there is nothing much you can do about it. There has been a recall by the chip manufacturer, Intel and so that of course has a knock on effect to the board manufacturers. They in turn recall all the boards in the distribution chain and so that just leaves the customer in the cold. It is really nobody's fault unless you blame the chip designer who made the initial error.

I know it doesn't help your situation but that is how things stand at the moment and you and I will have to make other arrangements for now.

Che gli possa venire la diarrea per 15 giorni.
Sarà pure pagato bene un deficiente del genere, vorrei che li pagasse di tasca sua tutti i problemi causati.

The problem being that it doesn't matter if Gigabyte is ready tomorrow. Until Intel can ship the replacement chips in quantity it is really irrelevant.

(We all need a good rant sometimes ;))

Maybe the clan can help you out by lending you some hardware between them. It is in their interests too.

It seems that different vendors in different countries are treating the problem in a variety of ways. Most i\ think have pulled all stock from the shelves but there are still some that have items for sale. Check out the smaller companies and Ebay sellers still have them up for grabs I notice.

Hi genoaole

Intel informed it has started manufacturing on a new version of this chipset. It now expects to begin shipping the new parts in mid-February.
