I seem to still be getting the DMI message on every (cold) boot with BIOS F7.

What is the relationship between BIOS F7 and BIOS F6H - I assume that F7 is more recent and is the one to use.... so why the F6 update?

Hi All

I confirmed it with our HQ, there is nothing to worry about. The explanation is as follows:
The message means that data of the memory registry of K8 processor has been updated to DMI when the system is turned on. Those data are aimed to be written back to processor when PC wakes up from sleep mode of S3(STR).

Anyway a special bios will be made soon without this message (as it maybe confusing)

thanks for the info, mine does the same thing too.
but besides that runs pretty well.
yes it is confusing....

Hi badpix3l

This special bios should fix the issue, please try it and feedback

I downloaded the special bios, but I'm a little confused. Whats the best way to install this while in the windows environment? Is there an application to install this in the windows environment? Does this bios work with XP 32 bit?
or CAN we install this while in the widows environment at all? ???
The instructions that I have found so far are a bit confusing....

Hi,
gigabyte windows application @bios does enable you to install, BUT it has caused many peps problems,
Go to the gigabyte web site select your mobo model  and download a PDF file on how to use qflash in your bios,
Read it through untill you completly understand it,
It is really easy to do honest, using a usb flash drive or a floppy,
Cheers

Best way is use USB stick. Move bios file on usb. Power on computer, press "end", select bios file and flash bios.

This is whats confusing about it:
I downloaded the special bios, I can move it to a USB stick, BUT...
Is that The Only file I need on the USB stick?
Are there other files that need to be placed on the USB stick with the "Special Bios" to actually make it WORK?
It seems like no manufacturer actually makes it CLEAR and CONCISE, with instructions from START to FINISH.
They always seem to skip the actual requirements, to make the thing actually WORK.
What are the REAL instructions?

Yes, bios file (with extension equal to bios version) is enough for upgrade process.

The problem still occurs with the F8c beta BIOS - will the final F8 release incorporate this fix?
