    Wow.
I had no idea I would start a war...

No Kristoffer  ...  we like to think of it as a slightly warm, technically motivated discussion,  heavy weapons and tactical Nukes are not permitted.

                                                                                 ;D

BAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA  :D

Credit where it's due tiro_uspsss.......the best I could dig-up was a paltry 269.88Mb/s off a singe Sata II port .....

     http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Solid-State-Drives-SSD/Marvell-Vs-ICH10R-Vs-Highpoint-640-Single-RAID/td-p/18454

But also covers the Highpoint 640 and what a good work around it turned out to be for me and many other with suckish Sata III performance boards.

Thanks for the motivation as well.......the above link has a nice little explanation as to why the Marvell 88SE9128 never performed and never will

Quite an interesting read.......still might have to try sticking 4 Vertex3s on the 640 an see what it can do!

As to the lovely weather you wished upon me.......I'll have you know we had not 2 but 3 sunny days this summer..... and the heatwave had T.V updates every half hour reminding people to keep up there fluids...........it hit 27C

Well, Agility 3 SSD on the way then...
Just hope its not using too long time from the US  :P

Anyone interested in 2x of 160BG Velciraptors?  ;D

They perform very well:

But since I am actually seated on top of my computer and a project studio is all about silence, they are too noisy (as all mechanical HDDs) for me.

 Hi kristoffer and friends,

Just note that the MLC Nand Flash chips SF-2281 SSD that equip, are problematic.

So watch out for Vertex and Agility 3 that have them.
Vertex II models have problems with the output of S3 sleep. Many BSOD.

The 5400 rpm drives are quieter. Like the Samsung EcoGreen F4. 29dB.

Disks Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARS have a 25-26dB.
This latter seems better than the Samsung.

If not 7200rpm, there is the Caviar Black WD have a 34dB.

Please note that a difference of 10dB is perceived as two (2) times stronger.

I will look out for the BSOD after installing the Agility 3, how do you know if you have the given MLC flash chips?

spinning discs are unfortunately not an option, both due to speed and noise.

If you have ever worked with a DAW, you'd known 5400rpm is not an option at all :D

othervise, your input is apreciated. I'll look for the MLC cips

Hi kristopher,

I view my model of chips on my hardware by by different ways.

I read aspecialized magazines about computer hardware.
I search with keyword on google. like chips, circuit, firmware, etc about hardware.
I search .pdf files on google about topic.
I visit a official homesite of brands. Like OCZ, Gigabyte, etc.
I participate on the forum for help person.

Anyone have a clue why I'm only getting about 250/250 write/read on the agility 3?
Have it in ahci, connected to the intel controller.

Web link is appreciate.

Exemple of situation implicate Case and trouble speed...

Re: GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 BIOS and SATA 3 Issues. Need some advice please.

See my signature?

First item. Fractal.
There is a direct connection from the mobo to the SSD.

I'm trying different cables tomorrow, and different ports as well.
