I must admit they don't come across as  a good example of an efficient service centre. Sometimes mistakes do happen though but when it is your component that is taking a trip all around Australia it would hack you off! Let's just hope they find it and get it sorted out quickly.  :-\

Don't sweat it Ben .... I like to look at the bright side when things go tits up!

Once it left your door and it comes back to your door.....it's there liability .... if they decide to send it on holidays to QLD .... there problem, not yours.

Unlikely, but if they give you problems, mention "Consumer Affairs" .... after changing his undies, you'll have a new monitor pronto .

Hi Ben,

What is it going to cost you to pick up the phone and get some advice from "Consumer Affairs"? If they are a government body the taxes you pay fund that organisation.

Hey guys, got another phone call from them said it's on it's way here,I  said if the bezel is broken I want it fixed, they said can't do that as it's part of the screen. Then I played my trump card, I mentioned that I phoned consumers affair's & they said that I did not have to take any photo's of the monitor, & they had to fix or give me a new one, well talk about a back flip, all of a sudden it was 'oh I didn't mean it like that' he then said that when I get the monitor to phone him up & he will arrange to have it sent back to them & they will give me a replacement model  not the same but similar in all aspects.
So this is getting better, so they are going to send me back my old monitor, then have it returned to them & then give me a replacement.
This is going to cost them, they should have just let me exchange it from the store I purchased it from would have been cheaper & would have been a win, win situation all round.

Will keep you posted on this saga, (talk about "Day's Of Our Lives")

The war is on.

They have suddenly done a back flip, & are now refusing to replace my monitor, they say that as I didn't use the original box it came in they are not liable for any damages plus I should have written "FRAGILE" on the box, lost me on that one , if they are not liable what dif would it make if I had written fragile or not? What gets me is when I said I didn't have a box they said it was okay to use another box so long as it was packed securely.

Plus they are sending it back to me in my box, hate to see what the damage is like now.

Contacted them by phone as to why the sudden back flip the guy hung up on me, how rude.

Phoned Consumers they said to get in contact with consumers in their area (NSW) & also to let them know what is happening.

I have also emailed AOC's headquarters letting them know what is happening & that one of their staff members was very rude.

So I am now waiting for a reply.

I also mentioned on the phone to the rude guy why did I have to email them to find out what was happening 8 days later only to be told it was damaged, why did you not contact me about this beforehand?

That's when he hung up on me.

Ben.

Well it would seem that things are moving.

My other half got a phone call from one of the CEO's of AOC this morning apologizing for what has happened, & she say's that the rude man, whom we named will be dealt with, &  should this ever happen again he will be sacked.

She says I will be sent a brand new monitor, (she just got of her flight from Singapore when she got my email)  & was very apologetic to us for what happened.

It pays to go direct to the organ grinder & not the monkeys.

I will probably receive it after Christmas, this should have happened from the beginning & she herself admits it was probably a courier problem.

This is customer service to the fullest.

So it seems all is well in the western front again.

So hopefully I will have good news, next time I log on.

That sounds more like it now! Often the real problem is getting passed the little people to talk to someone who can make decisions and isn't scared to. Most companies have the same problem. ;)

Hi Ben,

Believe it when you see it.....have you got this in writing......and keep "Consumers"  informed about what is going on. Don't sit back until you have a new monitor......didn't they say they would send one to you before?

Hi Ben and Merry Christmas to you buddy!

I've been monitoring from afar ..... Don,t hassle "Consumer Affairs"..... all they will tell you at this stage is keep a record of the dialog thus far....from my experience dealing with similar problems when in OZ....the CEO will be good for her word now she has made contact with you .... play the nice bloke till they get back to you......in the unlikely event ....if you have to elevate it .... your position will look more genuine  if you play it this way.....enjoy the new monitor!

I hope you did get through to the CEO .....normally trying to get through to senior management in a large organisation is very difficult....but if they have put it in writing to that effect then it should be OK. "Consumers" will advise you......surely not a bad thing.....but I would keep them informed as that is why they are there. But at the end of the day its your call.

Can't see contacting the website below as being "hassle" if they can help you.

Okay good news got a monitor, bad news (kind of) it's an older one circa 2010 while mine was 2011.

Box it came in was slightly damaged but contents okay, plus the video cable & remote were missing.

The box was a pre used one as the original came from, wait for it, 'Gigabyte' & was sent back to AOC with a sticky saying DOA on it.

I phoned AOC about the monitor told them that though it was an older model, that at least it wasn't making any noise & I was happy with it.

They said regarding the missing items they would send me back the ones from my old monitor once it arrived.

Also emailed the HQ & told them the same thing, plus I thanked them for their help, also mentioned that the service dept, had no idea that I was to get a new one, but at least I was happy & thankful this was settled.

Let's hope this year is a better one, without any issues of any kind.
